This new house, of some 25,000sqft, replaces a modest farmhouse at the centre of a large parcel of land in a prominent Cotswold location. It is a rare opportunity to build a house of architectural distinction in a wonderful rural setting.
The design is for a main block, with wing additions, including a formal arcaded courtyard and pool building. The architecture is studied classicism with a particularly English flavour. The family wing is in a more subdued Neo-classicism, in deliberate contrast, and the pool area is consciously contemporary.
The house will be built in ashlar stone built around a dramatic double volume hall in the best English Baroque tradition.
