This commission was for a new country house, of some 8000sqft, in West Oxfordshire.
The farm originally consisted of a small house (around 2000sqft), with a large range of run down stone barns and outbuildings.
The house was replaced with a new country house in natural stone. The formal front facade looks over a ha-ha to open countryside. The more intimate south facade looks into the sheltered garden, with easy access from the kitchen and other day rooms.
Internally, the stairwell boasts an elliptical cantilevered stone staircase, with stone floors and oak joinery throughout the ground floor.
The outbuildings were converted to cottages, entertainment rooms, home office and outdoor pool facilities.
