This exceedingly pretty and ornamental Listed Gothic-revival house from the 1830s, is located in West Berkshire.
Poor quality alterations had disfigured the house, and a large wing had been demolished. As a result of our careful dialogue with the Local Authority, we gained consent for a large new wing taking the place of some indifferent work of the 1980s on the site of the lost wing.
The careful detailing, the choice of material, as well as the compositional devices used, have created a magnificent and practical space for the family, which complements the mansion well.
We have also designed a new pool complex, in a picturesque early 19th Century classical idiom.
