Yiangou Architects were commissioned to undertake this major refurbishment of an important Grade II listed house.
The works completed to this property were extensive and included the replacement of a number of poorly constructed extensions, together with the modification of internal layouts to improve the kitchen and bedroom spaces and a complete interior fit out. Badly deteriorated ashlar stone chimneys were rebuilt and the existing basement was waterproofed and converted to create a high quality wine cellar.
The work continued beyond the main house with outbuildings converted to provide additional accommodation and the 2.5 acre garden comprehensively remodelled around the important, protected trees.
The properties environmental credentials were dramatically improved with the installation of a biomass boiler, providing district heating to the entire property and housed underground to minimise its visual impact.
