This important Listed Grade I house in the south Cotwolds retained medieval elements and was altered by Sir John Soane but had been poorly altered in the 1970s.
The works included the demolition of the 1970s extension, and its replacement with a well crafted crenellated single storey extension, with a new wine cellar and cinema room in the basement. The project also included an outdoor swimming pool and pavilion building within a walled garden.
Elsewhere, a further bedroom suite was added at first floor level. The house was completely refurbished with many careful repairs to the fabric being made.
A prominent lost chimney was carefully recreated using an early photograph of the house from Country Life magazine.
