This project was for the re-development of the finest remaining site in Bath.
The site is surrounded by the greatest concentration of grade 1 and 2* structures imaginable, and was the subject of considerable analysis before presentation to the various Preservation Societies.
The buildings were to be of Bath stone ashlar work, with private gardens and terraces, and parking was to be accommodated by underground facilities using the ground slope. One area, very much in the shadow of the great Lansdown Crescent, was designed in a deliberately contemporary and discrete way, to avoid clashing with the 18th Century architecture so cheek-by-jowel.
In total the scheme would have seen about 100,000 ft of new buildings.
