This refurbished Victorian Oxford town house is situated with in the prestigious North Oxford Conservation Area. The client wanted to maximise on the floor area of the property whilst restoring and maintaining the original character of the house. The house was completely refurbished and extended into the roof space and lower ground floor. This created a large family kitchen / dining area in the lower ground floor area as well as an additional two bedrooms in the roof.
The lower ground floor was built with a flat roof to provide a terrace from the original drawing room whilst providing a large family dining area below, opening out onto the lower courtyard. The roof terrace has large walk on glazing to allow natural light to cascade down in to the lower ground floor.
The house was also extended with a two storey side extension to provide a home office and boot room entrance accessing the lower ground floor from the front of the house.
